Bishop McDevitt Assembly #920 Color Guard was requested to attend the annual Veterans Day flag raising on November 11, 2025, at St. Joseph School in East York.
Six Sir Knights attended the event at the request of Principal, Melissa Preston.
Approximately 300 students and 12 veterans were in attendance. The program was run entirely by the students of St. Joseph School.
Special thanks goes out to Principal Melissa Preston and her students for coloring pictures for two veterans programs. The Veterans Day event and the Veterans Appreciation Mass & Dinner that was held by Bishop McDevitt Assembly #920 on November 14th.
Approximately 40 pictures were colored by the students. Twenty of those pictures were framed and given to veterans during the special dinner on November 14th. Copies of some of the pictures are included below. It should be noted that one of the veterans recognized during the flag raising was St. Joseph School, Instructional Support Teacher, Ms. Erin Reisenweber. The fifth veteran from the left, standing on the gym floor, pictured above.
